Maintaining and developing Universal’s accreditations is critical to the business and underpins operations. Universal currently holds BS EN ISO 9001, BS EN ISO 14001, BS OHSAS 18001, BS 8522, FORS, and Safe Contractor certifications amongst others.

BS OHSAS 45001:2018
Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

Universal has been assessed and found to comply with BS OHSAS 45001:2018, the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (“OHSAS”) standard for an Occupational Health and Safety (“OH&S”) management system.

BS OHSAS 45001:2018 enables an organisation to control its OH&S risks and improve its OH&S performance.

BS OHSAS 45001:2018 helps organisations to:

a) establish and continually improve and OH&S management system to eliminate or minimise risks to personnel and other interested parties who could be exposed to OH&S hazards associated with activities or services;
b) work systematically to achieve improvements in occupational health and safety performance and prevent (re-)occurrence of accidents and incidents;
c) assure itself of its conformity with its stated OH&S policy and demonstrate such conformance to others; and
d) continually comply with applicable OH&S legal requirements.

BS EN ISO 14001:2015
Environmental Management Systems

Universal has been assessed and found to comply with BS EN ISO 14001:2015, the British Standard for environmental management systems.

ISO 14001:2015 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system. It maps out a framework that a company can follow to set up an effective environmental management system.

Using ISO 14001:2015 provides assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.

BS EN ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that an organisation can use to enhance its environmental performance and manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.

BS EN ISO 14001:2015 helps organisations achieve the intended outcome of an environmental management system consistent with our environmental policy. The standard helps an organisation achieve the following outcomes:
a) enhancement of environmental performance;
b) fulfilment of compliance obligations; and
c) achievement of environmental objectives.

Quality Management Systems

Universal has been assessed and found to comply with BS EN ISO 9001:2015, the British Standard for quality management systems.

The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.

BS EN ISO 9001:2015 specifies the requirements for a quality management system when an organisation:

a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements; and
b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

BS EN ISO 27001:2017
Information Security Management Systems

Universal has been assessed and found to comply with BS ISO / IEC 27001:2017, the British Standard for information security management systems.

The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.

The standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organization.

The standard also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organization.

BS 8522:2009
Furniture Removal Activities – Commercial Moving Services

Universal has been assessed and found to comply with BS 8522:2009, the British Standard for commercial moving services.

BS 8522:2009 specifies requirements for a commercial moving service, including:
a) defining the scope of the commercial moving service, obtaining preliminary information and supplying quotations;
b) undertaking the commercial moving service; and
c) monitoring the commercial moving service.

It is intended to establish a minimum level of service and performance in organisations dealing with the moving of office or business equipment, furniture and goods as a service to commercial entities and other organisations.

BAR Commercial Moving Group

Universal Commercial Relocation is a member of the Commercial Moving Group of the British Association of Removers.

The Commercial Moving Group of the British Association of Removers (CMG) consists of over 50 independent Companies, all of whom have attained BS 8522 – the British Standard for Commercial Moving.

The Group was formed in 1989 by like-minded and innovative Office Removals Specialists, as a sub group of the British Association of Removers (BAR) to promote the benefits of using certificated office moving specialists to the Facilities and Change Management Sectors, and with a view to sharing knowledge between its Members..

Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme

Universal Commercial Relocation is a member of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, accredited to Silver level.

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (“FORS”) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance. requirements.

FORS membership provides progressive accreditation enabling operators to achieve exemplary levels of best practice. FORS members stand out from the crowd, work to standards above the legal minimum and have access to a wide range of exclusive benefits that provide a real competitive advantage.

SafeContractor

Safecontractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors.

Under the Safecontractor scheme, Universal underwent a stringent vetting process which examines Health & Safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website.

Client-organisations who sign up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site.
